The newly recruited students were registering between 8-9 October. In the Runing Square were lines of tendents in good order and the school-name banners were clearly shown. The volunteer-helpers from the Students Asoociation in red attire were engagaed in doing many things for the new students. In the morning of the eighth, the University Council Chairman Yu Zuobin and President Xing Yong, accompanied with the vice presidents Zhao Yipeng, Wen Zongfeng, Huang Zundong, and Wang Wanling came to the Square to express their regards to the working people and newly coming students as well as their family members.

The University had arrangesd several buses to carry the new students to the campus from all the important bus-sattions such as the Xinyang Railway Station, Xinyang-East High-Speed Train Station, Xinyang Bus Sattion, and the Hong-yun Long-Distanced Bus Station. The healthy codes and NUCLEIC ACID reports of these students should be confirmed before they came to the campus. Relevant safe facilities and services were also provided at the entrance gate of the university; these were all for the healthy safty of the students.

The deans and vice deans went to their school tenants to push the welcoming work, and the volunteer students had prepared some information handbills for the new students; they even accompanied them to their new domitories. By the evening of the nineth, the welcoming work came to an end.
