ZHAO Yipeng
Male; born in 1962; doctorate degree; postgraduate tutor; bachelor degree of forestry from Henan Agriculture University in 1983, master degree of biology majoring in Warwick University in the UK in 2000, doctorate degree in horticulture from Essex University in UK in 2003. He is a member of the International Horticultural Society, a member of the International Society for Plant Tissue Culture and Biotechnology, and a member of the the Ecological Society of China. Main research orientation and achievements: horticultural plant tissue culture and somaclonal variation.
He published more than 40 papers and 3 books. He participated in many important projects and has been honored with many prizes. He possessed good experiences in the field of germplasm resources evaluation, in rapid multiplication by tissue culture of plant, in botanical micro technique, and in cytogenetic, etc. The courses he teaches are Plant Biotechnology, Gardening Professional English, and Plant Tissue. He presented the report of rhubarb somaclonal variation which was first reported in the world; he also determined the food with rhubarb DNA content for the first time. These and put forward potential mechanism of food with rhubarb somaclonal variation.
